Returns
How long do I have to return the item?
If you change your mind, you have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return. The journal must be unused and in its original condition. Drop us a line at hi@oohoo.co and we'll walk you through it.
One thing worth knowing: once a journal has been written in, it becomes something entirely its own. We can't accept returns on personalised or used journals — but we'd argue that means it's working exactly as intended.
What if my items are damaged or defective?
That should never happen — but if it does, we want to know immediately. Email us at hi@oohoo.co with a photo and your order number, and we'll send a replacement out as quickly as we can.
When can I expect my refund?
Once we've received and checked your return, we'll process your refund within 5 business days. It'll go back to your original payment method — card refunds typically appear within 3–5 business days after that, depending on your bank.
So worst case, allow about 10 business days from the moment your return reaches us. If nothing has arrived by then, email hi@oohoo.co and we'll look into it straight away.
Shopping
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, plus PayPal and Apple Pay as alternate methods
Do you accept International Cards?
Currently not, but if you have a Paypal/ApplePay account linked to an international card, just choose this option at checkout and you're good to go!
Can I order in bulk?
Yes. Whether you're buying for a nursery, a school, a corporate gift programme, or a very large and well-organised family, email hi@oohoo.co with what you have in mind and we'll work something out.
Can I buy Oohoo in a physical store?
Not yet — for now, oohoo.co is the only place to get the journal. We're building our retail presence carefully and selectively. If you run a shop that feels like the right home for tiny moments, we'd love to hear from you. And if you're a customer who'd love to find us on a shelf somewhere specific, tell us — it genuinely informs where we go next.
Do you offer discounts for schools or nurseries?
We love the idea of Oohoo finding its way into early childhood settings. If you're a teacher, nursery manager, or school coordinator interested in ordering multiple copies, email us at hi@oohoo.co and let's talk. We handle bulk and institutional orders individually so we can make sure it actually works for your context.
The journal is sold out. When will it be back in stock?
We print in batches, so when we're out, we're out — for a little while at least. The best way to know the moment we're back is to join the waitlist on the product page and we'll email you as soon as new copies are available.
If you're buying as a gift and timing matters, feel free to email us at hi@oohoo.co — we'll do our best to give you an honest estimate.
About the journal
What is the Oohoo journal?
Oohoo is a 182-day gratitude and mood journal for children aged 3–6, designed to be used together with a parent. One page per evening — a parent asks, a child answers, a parent writes. Over 26 weeks, it builds a gentle bedtime ritual around noticing the good in everyday life.
Who is it for?
The journal is designed for children aged 3–6 and their parents or caregivers. The child speaks; the adult writes. No reading or writing skills required from the child — just a willingness to think about beetles, puddles, and the colour of happy.
How long does it take each evening?
Most families spend around five minutes on a page. Some evenings it turns into twenty. There's no wrong answer.
What kind of prompts are inside?
Each page has a mood check-in, a gratitude prompt, and a small reflective question. The prompts are simple, open-ended, and designed to spark real conversation rather than one-word answers.
What language is the journal in?
The journal is currently available in Estonian. An English-language edition is in works.
Do we have to do it every single day?
No. Life happens — travel, illness, the occasional evening where everyone is just too tired. The journal is designed to build a habit, not create guilt. Pick it back up whenever you're ready.
What if my child doesn't want to answer?
That's fine too. Some evenings the best prompt is just sitting together. The journal will still be there tomorrow.
Can it be used by grandparents, nannies, or other caregivers?
Absolutely. Any trusted adult can be the scribe. Some families use it as a handover ritual between parents; others find grandparents love having a structured way to connect.
My child is 2. Can we start early?
The prompts are designed for ages 3–6, when children begin to develop emotional vocabulary and can engage with simple reflective questions. For younger children, we'd suggest waiting — or keeping an eye out for our 0–3 range, coming in 2028.
My child is 7. Have we missed the window?
Not at all — many 6–8 year olds will still find the journal meaningful. For children who've grown into more independence, a journal for ages 7–12 is on its way.
Do I need to buy a new journal after 175 days?
Yes — each journal covers 25 weeks, one page per day. When the last page is done, it becomes a keepsake: a record of who your child was, what they noticed, what made them happy during that particular season of their life. Many families choose to start a new one immediately. Others take a break and return when the time feels right. Either way, the journal you've finished doesn't stop being valuable — it just becomes something you keep rather than something you use.
Can two children share one journal?
The Good Things journal is designed around one child's voice, so two children sharing a single journal would mean mixing their answers — which works fine as a record of siblings together, less well as an individual portrait of either child. If you have two children in the 3–6 age range, we'd recommend one journal each. The evening ritual can still happen together; the pages just belong to one person.
Journalling for kids
What is a children's gratitude journal?
A children's gratitude journal is a structured way to help young children notice and name the good things in their day — a favourite moment, something that made them laugh, a person who made them feel safe. Unlike adult journals, children's versions are designed to be used together with a parent or caregiver, with simple prompts that don't require reading or writing skills from the child. Over time, the practice builds emotional vocabulary, strengthens the parent-child bond, and trains the brain to look for the good even on harder days.
What are the benefits of gratitude journaling for children?
Research consistently shows that regular gratitude practice in early childhood supports better emotional regulation, improved sleep, greater resilience, and stronger relationships. For children aged 3–6 specifically, the benefits come less from writing and more from the conversation — being asked what felt good today, having a parent listen carefully to the answer, and learning that their inner world is worth paying attention to. The journal is the structure; the connection is the point.
How do I start a bedtime gratitude practice with my child?
The simplest version requires nothing at all — just asking one question before lights out: "What was the best part of today?" The Oohoo journal builds on that instinct with 182 evenings of thoughtfully designed prompts, a mood check-in, and space to capture the answers before they disappear. Most families find that five minutes is enough. Some evenings turn into twenty. The ritual tends to stick because children start asking for it — which, if you've ever tried to establish a bedtime routine, you'll know is something of a miracle.
How is Oohoo different from other children's journals?
Most children's journals are either activity books dressed up as journals, or adult gratitude journals scaled down with smaller fonts. Oohoo was built from scratch for the 3–6 age group, where children can't yet read or write but have plenty to say. The prompts were developed with a family therapist. The format is designed for a parent and child to use together, not for a child to use alone. The physical object is made to last — Smyth-sewn, quality paper, built for a bookshelf rather than a recycling bin.
